DANCEFORCE is coming Saturday, February 4th!

Bolingbrook Park District has its own dance troop called DANCEFORCE! They will be coming to the library on Saturday, February 4th at 1:00pm for a special performance that all ages can attend! No need to sign up! Just come out and enjoy! The performance will take place on the 1st floor lobby of the library and it will last between 20-30 minutes.

Right after the performance, teens and tweens can be a part of a bonus treat by the DANCEFORCE instructors! They will be here to give a brief dance instructional – it’ll last about 30 minutes – one for the teen group and one class for the tweens. This program does require registration, which can be done by calling us at 630.685.4199 or by registering online at www.fountaindale.org.

Teens! Are you FOR or AGAINST Valentine’s Day?

Come celebrate with us on Thursday, February 2nd! We will have activities that are PRO the holiday as well as ANTI the holiday! The fun will begin at 6:30pm and go until 8pm. Activities will include creating poetry, making lollipop flowers, decorating black Anti-Valentine’s Day cookies and “vandalizing” romance novel covers! And as a bonus very special treat, teen author Kristina Springer will be here! She has written such great books as “My Fake Boyfriend is Better Than Yours.” She will have her books available for purchase which she will sign for you or just come in to meet her and learn more about her books. Stamp Your Heart Out! making Valentine’s Day cards! Adults and teens, this program is for you!

Our rubber stamping guru Shannon will be here this upcoming Thursday night to walk you through making 4 different Valentine’s Day cards that you will complete at the program and be able to take with you to deliver to your own very special valentines! The cards will feature rubber stamping techniques, cut-outs and glitter! This program is taking place in the Children’s Creativity Park, but make no mistake, this program is for adults and teens and the cards are just so beautiful and unique! Our brand new Teen Writer’s Group starts this Monday!

Hey all you teens! School is out on Monday and we’ve chosen this day to start our Teen Writer’s Group with published teen author Megg Jensen! Megg has written for magazines and published books of her own and wants to help your creative minds out there! This group will generally meet on the 3rd Monday evening of each month from 6:30-7:30pm. You need to register for this program monthly in order to attend. The meetings will take place in the Vortex and attendees should be in grades 6-12. On February 2, from 6:30-8:00pm, we will be having our “He Loves Me…He Loves Me Not” Party in The Vortex! Valentine’s Day will go head-to-head with Anti-Valentine’s Day as we have activities both celebrating and protesting this LOVE-able and HATE-able holiday! The party’s for 6-12 graders and we ask that you please register! Teen author Kristina Springer will join us and sign books that she’ll have available for purchase!
