I ♥ Percy Jackson

I love Greek mythology so I was really excited when I discovered the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan.  The Greek Olympian gods are alive and living on Mt. Olympus (which is now on the 600th floor of the Empire State Building).  Percy’s adventures begin in The Lightning Thief, where he discovers that he is the son of Poseidon, Greek God of the Sea.  To keep him safe, Percy is sent to Camp Half-Blood where he meets other children of the gods.  Percy is constantly battling mythical monsters and working to defeat the elder gods (Titans), who are determined to overthrow the Olympians.

In honor of the series and the movie release, we are throwing a Percy Jackson Party.  Join us on Monday, February 15 @ 6:30 PM in Bolingbrook for our Get Greek:  Percy Jackson Event.  The final battle may be over but we still LOVE Percy Jackson!  Explore the world of Percy and Camp Half-Blood. The fun includes trivia, a craft, games and more. Come in costume, if you like!  This program is for Grades 5 – 8.

For more on the books, visit the Percy Jackson and the Olympians website.

The whole Percy Jackson series was absolutely fantastic. I personally never read anything that involved Greek mythology until i read this series. Now I’m searching for more books on the subject.
