Teen Tech Week @ Fountaindale Public Library, March 8 – March 14, 2015

Making Beats 10_2013 (6)Teen Tech Week is underway at the library and we have a whole week of great programming lined up for teens grades 6 – 12.  Registration is open for all programs and space is still available.  To register, visit fountaindale.org or call the Vortex at 630-685-4199. Please note that Studio 300 programs require a Fountaindale Public Library card to register.

Tuesday, March 10

Raspberry Pi, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in Studio 300
Learn basic computer programming with Raspberry Pi.

Teen Gaming Club, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the Vortex
Play video games rated T and below with friends.

Wednesday, March 11

Light Painting, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in Studio 300
Use different types of LED lights and camera equipment to “paint” a photo that resembles a hand-drawn sketch.

Thursday, March 12

Lego® Storytelling, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in Studio 300
Create your own comic using Lego® blocks, camera equipment, and the computer program Comic Life.

Friday, March 13

Teen Geek Out, 3:00 – 5:30 p.m. in Studio 300
Teens are taking over Studio 300. Drop-in to try out the computers, video and sound recording equipment, and more. It will be a teens only environment from 3:00 – 5:30 pm! No registration is required.

Saturday, March 14

Retro Techno Fair, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in Meeting Room A
Experience technology from days past and see how far we’ve come. The fair looks back at old(er) technology — phones, computers, video games, slides, LPs, and so much more. Join us for this all ages trip down memory lane.
