I scream, you scream. Yada yada, yada yada. You know the drill.
While I’ve never actually *screamed* for any frozen dairy products, I have to admit; ice cream is pretty awesome.
The Question of the Week currently posted in the Vortex asks everyone to name their favorite flavor of ice cream. And it got me thinking of all the different varieties and concoctions I’ve tried during my lifetime.
Of course, I’ve tried the standards; chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, mint, coffee, and so on. But, I’ve also encountered some not-so-traditional flavors. My favorites of these have been green tea (so good!) and hibiscus. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about flower-powered ice cream, but it turns out that it’s pretty darn tasty. (Bees might be onto something after all.) My least favorites have been red bean (good flavor but I couldn’t get past the texture) and wasabi-ginger (just no).
Despite the nearly endless possibilities of flavors and mix-ins, I nearly always get the same yummy creation when visiting an ice cream parlour – coffee ice cream with Oreo crumbles, peanut butter, fudge, and whipped cream. Delicioso!
What are your favorite ice cream flavors? What do you like on top of or mixed into your ice cream? Do you prefer fro-yo or sorbet to ice cream? Where’s your favorite place to go for frozen treats? Let us know in the comments!
