I Love Hue is my latest mobile gaming addiction. It is available on Android and iPhone for free!
The basic premise is you are given a gradient, and then have to put it back in order. Sounds like something that would get boring fast, right? You’d be sorely mistaken!
There are TONS of different gradients to choose from and with a large variety of difficulties. This really helps mix things to keep it interesting. It’s really relaxing too, looking at all those disordered colors and making sense out of it. My favorite gradients to work with are the rainbow ones, they’re just so gorgeous!
The squares with dots in the center are fixed points to give you a guide on how to organize the gradient. Maps have a varying amount of these guide squares to make it easier, or more difficult!
When you beat a level, the game is SUPER encouraging. My favorite is when it calls me an iridescent moonbeam.

My name is Ashe and I’m addicted to Magikarp Jump! (Yes, yes I know it came out in May and I’m late to the party). I was up until 3:30 a.m. playing…I have no regrets (ask me again in a few hours).
It’s the newest mobile game out by the Pokemon Company available on Android and iOS. It also seems to not be too battery intensive which is great for addicted players like me!
The point of the game is to train your Magikarp to have the highest jumping power it possibly can. Why? To win in Magikarp jumping leagues!
It sounds super silly, but it’s super fun and lighthearted to take away stress from the day. Play it while waiting in line at the store or in between homework assignments when you need a breather.
These Magikarp are so eager and adorable I can’t resist them!

Fire Emblem: Heroes is a free-to-play mobile game that can be played on Android and iOS.
“A world with two kingdoms: the Emblian Empire, which wishes to rule all worlds, and the Askran Kingdom, which stands in its way.
You are a summoner with the special ability to call upon legendary Heroes from different Fire Emblem worlds. In order to save the Kingdom of Askr from destruction, join the Order of Heroes and face a never-ending challenge.” — Google Play store.
If you’ve played any previous Fire Emblem (or even just Super Smash Bros) titles, some of the characters will be familiar to you already, such as Tiki or Marth!
It starts out with a gorgeous opening film then prompts you to pick a character name afterwards.
Now the gameplay begins! It doesn’t waste any time teaching you how to fight. Again, if you’ve played Fire Emblem before, it will be familiar to you. If not, it’s super easy to pick up! Just drag your character to where they need to go.
For any questions you may have, try Polygon’s guide!
The fate of the many worlds in Fire Emblem: Heroes depends on you!
