Synopsis:
“A typical morning. The usual music. Their normal lives. The peace these seven girls experience will suddenly be destroyed. By the living dead… zombies. A reality that they never wanted a part of, an amazing and terrifying zombie world. They all share one wish: “We want to live.” These girls will struggle through this saga, in order to achieve a miracle.”

Commentary:

I can honestly say I’ve never seen a zombie-themed media like this before! I’m usually not too big on zombies? Either too spoopy or too cliche, so I usually pass (Shaun of the Dead will always be my only exception, but we’re here to talk anime, not Simon Pegg!).

As you can guess, the main characters in the show are zombies! This isn’t your typical zombie fare—these girls are going to rock the world with their cheerful music! The girls are brought together by a mysterious music director to save Saga Prefecture and put it back on the map! WITH JOY. Of course, since the girls are zombies, things don’t always go….as expected. Can the girls make it big while hiding their true nature? Maybe! I haven’t finished it yet either!

Go log onto Crunchyroll to FIND OUT. It’s only 12 episodes long, so not a huge time commitment, but your view of zombies will be changed forever. They’re just like us! Only…their heads pop off sometimes.

Zombie Outbreak!

ATTENTION, ALL HUMANS!

A zombie outbreak has occurred in the Vortex! The patient has exhibited classic symptoms such as shuffling, groaning, and an uncanny appetite for brains.

We are in search of 30 brave, young people to defend our library against the insatiable zombie hordes! Do you have the fortitude? More importantly, do you have the will to survive? Join us on Friday, July 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for a rousing game of Humans vs. Zombies!

Humans vs. Zombies (HvZ) is an internationally celebrated game of zombie tag. It was originally designed to be played on college campuses over the span of several days but has been adapted numerous times to fit all types of venues and time frames. You can find more information about the game (including basic rules) on the HvZ website. Rules for our event will be a little different, but this will give you the basic idea.

To register for this event, you will need to come in to the library or call us at (630)685-4199. Since the program is after the library’s usual hours, a parental permission slip will need to be signed and returned to the library before you can attend the game.
